Always a delicious experience. Super nice staff. Good for a quick and healthy lunch option too.

The tuna Poké bowl was so good. I loved it. The service was fast and the ambience. Well, it was in a mall so there's not much I could say there.

I like going to Hana Grill in the food court at Fashion Island. I always order the veggie rolls and they are so fresh and ready in a few minutes.

Great place for a vegetarian chicken teriyaki bowl! On the cheaper side too compared to all the local establishments. The texture of the "chicken" is almost close to being real, and they give a fair amount of rice, sauce and veggies. They can get a bit busy and it can take a bit for the food to come out, but I think it's worth the wait; the food is always fresh and hot!

Out of any of the options in the Fashion Island Food Court, Hana Grill appears to be the only one serving the closest thing to authentic Asian food. And craving some Asian food while shopping in the mall, I decided to check them out. Walking up to the stall around 6:30PM on a Friday, there was only one person in line. And taking a look at the menu, the majority of the items were priced relatively high. As I was about to browse some of the other items in the food court, I noticed Hana Grill had a BBQ Short Rib Plate for $13.99. Because this price is cheaper than most short rib plates in the area, I decided that I would give them a try. After ordering about 10 minutes later, the plate was ready for pick up and I proceeded to find a seat. Cracking open the box, I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity inside. I initially thought that there would be maybe three or four pieces of short rib. But when I counted 7-8 thick pieces inside, that immediately solidified Hana a spot on my hidden gems list! In addition to the short rib, the plate came with a small side of salad and two scoops of rice; both of these helped to make a full meal. To find a pretty large quantity of short rib in the Newport Beach area for below $15 is a steal. Definitely high price-to-portion value here! The flavor of the food was also on par with lower price: VERY GOOD! Although only made up of a few items, each was done right. The rice was soft, fluffy, and not too gooey. The salad was refreshing, a tad crunchy, and neutral overall. And for last, the short rib was delectable. The sauce used in the meat was glazed in just perfect amount: not drenched nor dry. In fact, it was just sweet enough that it paired very well with the light smokey sear on the surface of the meat. Each piece was somewhat chewy to eat alone. But with a fork and knife, the meat cut very easily. And when it came to the portions with fat, the meat tasted very close to butter. I would 100% get this plate again. Even though many people here on Yelp have shared their not-so-great experiences, this just goes to show that every restaurant has its strengths and weaknesses. Hana Grill's short rib plate can compete with other big names serving up a plate lunch. From the cheaper price tag for similar quantity to the rich taste, I'd be happy to come back again the next time I am in the area. Five out of five, no questions asked.

I love their chicken breast and salmon bowl, it was super tasty. The teriyaki sauce is really tasty, maybe they can add a bit more of veggies and less rice.

I came here for lunch & enjoyed the spicy tuna bowl. Everything was fresh with the perfect balance of spice. My food arrived quickly & the portions were enough to satisfy me without making me feel sluggish or stuffed. Great choice for a quick lunch.
